How to Easily Build Walls, Windows and Doors

In the earlier versions of 3dsMax, there was no primitive category enlisted as geometry named “AEC Extended”. But since Max version 6 this category has been added. Also there are other two new categories, they are “Windows” and “Doors”.

“AEC Extended” category contains Foliage, Railing, Wall as Object Type.

“Windows” category contains 6 types of Windows as Object Type.

“Doors” category contains 3 types of Doors as Object Type.

We will now learn how to attach these built-in windows and doors into a built-in wall. Choose “AEC Extended” category.

Choose ‘Wall’ as Object Type.

Artificial Fountain

Today, we will make a simple artificial  fountain in 3dsmax. Choose Geometry > Shapes (Splines) > Line and create a line in the Front viewport as shown below.

While the lines is selected, go to the Modify panel and enter ‘Spline’ sub-object mode. Then scroll down and activate “Outline” creating mode. Click and drag from the spline in the viewport to make an offset line. Deactivate the Outline button again.
